What is a Savings Account?
Many people choose to open a savings account to secure their future. The customer will deposit their funds into their savings account and leave it there for a substantial period of time to accrue interest. These accounts are usually not issued with a bankcard, as they are not designed with ease of access to your money in mind. Most savings accounts come with certain stipulations for holding the funds and for the interest that they will receive and one of those stipulations is usually a notification period for withdrawal of the funds.
With high interest savings accounts there are usually more regulations involved with withdrawing the money than a standard savings account such as a minimum deposit length or value. Some accounts will also make charges for maintenance of the account such as a withdrawal fee or account termination fee. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savings_account
